Flipping the script on the distressed antique trend, this design challenges the viewer to fill in the empty space in the present. On the other side of the coin from eroded antiques, Suzani Mod embodies the contemporary notion that an antique seed can bloom anew with its own gestures and sensibilities while still hearkening back, however obliquely, to its forebears.
