Designed as the parent to its diminutive companion, Whole Baby Fish, Fishtail is an elegant rendering of the nishikigoi or Koi, the Japanese name for a domesticated brocaded carp. Hearty and beautiful, the fish can live up to 200 years and is a perfect metaphor for heirloom quality home décor.
Another example of Gardner’s intimate relationship with Asian icons. To capture the iridescence of these fish in water, the rug is produced using a twisted ply technique of wool and silk, which allows the shimmer to increase closer to the edge of each scale.
